Welcome!
Each of us has a story--actually lots of stories--from the events and experiences of our life. For me, the stories that have shaped my life the most have flowed from coming to know the God of the Bible through Jesus, with my life fitting into His Great Story. In this blog I would like to share my story with you through the stories of some of my special experiences with the Lord.

Each of us also has some special interests and passions which can bring us a measure of satisfaction or joy. For me, one special interest has become the study of the Bible and related issues, often beginning with a question such as “Why does it say that?”, “How would the original readers or hearers have understood that?”, or “Why should I believe that really happened?”. In this blog I would like to also share with you some things I have learned through the years as I asked these questions and humbly sought satisfying answers.
Let me start by stating my foundational perspective, expressed in three words about God, His Word the Bible, and Jesus the Word of God who took on flesh: Right, True, and Good.

Right
I believe that the world and life as we experience it are best understood as they are described in the Bible. It is the right fit for understanding reality as we can know it. Every time we say ‘should’ or ‘ought to’ we are appealing to a world of real rights and wrongs. As we deal at times with fear, guilt and shame, we deal with the moral cancer of our sin and the realities of evil and temptation repeatedly impacting our lives. Our experiences and awareness of pain and suffering tell us “this is not the way things should be!” And when we look for hope and assurance that something better is possible, in the Bible we find the answer- a spiritual dimension to reality, and a living God who loves us, who is able to transform us and, through us, to transform the world around us, also.
True
The Bible is the grand story of the core events of history, with implications for everyone everywhere of all times. I believe that the events recorded in the Bible as historical events are true history. They really happened, even when they tell of God speaking to people, of God doing miracles, of when God took on flesh and entered into the world as a man--Jesus. The only reason to disbelieve these events would be a presupposition that God does not exist. For the person who is willing to consider God, the real question becomes only “Would God want to do that?” The answer God gives in Jesus: Yes! Furthermore, I have found that, properly understood, the evidence from archaeology and other ancient historical records strongly supports the historical record of the Biblical text.
Good
Over the past 45 years of my walk with the Lord I have found Him to be wonderfully good to me. The message of new life through Jesus that the Bible describes is truly ‘Good News”! There is nothing better than knowing the living God who loves you and who is able to guide, provide for, shape and use us for our good and His glory. Life will rarely be easy, and will sometimes be very hard, but in resting in His love and submitting to His will, it will always be good. Acknowledging my sin and need for His forgiveness and healing, trusting that Jesus has made that possible, and accepting His plans for my life, are the keys that unlocked this new life for me. If not already so, I pray that you will soon come to experience the life with the Lord which I have known.
